Studies Show Golf Improves Your Physical and Mental Health

Attention all golf lovers! As if you needed yet another reason to justify thinking about golf, practicing skills and playing golf 24/7, we are so excited to share that a study published in Science Daily from the American Heart Association has shown that golfing regularly improves older adults’ physical and mental health! Now, you can enjoy your favorite game and feel good about it knowing that it ultimately will benefit you in countless ways. 

Golfing at least once a month was found to not only lower the risk of death among older adults, but also improve physical ability and mental health through the social interaction. For many older adults, more strenuous exercise is not possible, so golfing is a great way to get the heart pumping and have fun while you’re doing it. From a mental perspective, it is an unbelievable stress reliever, can help older adults to maintain motivation and can generally make people happier. When comparing death rates among golfers and non-golfers, the researchers found a significantly lower rate of death among golfers – around 15% compared to 25%, respectively! 

This outstanding research will be presented in more depth at the American Stroke Association’s International Stroke Conference 2020 from February 19th to February 21st in Los Angeles.
